A bunch of songs I heard a while ago, and the track list isn't too deep. Should have worked a little harder on the mixtape that's leading up to his upcoming album. I expect better from Lupe Fiasco, but it's still a straight mixtape.

Kanye West: 808s & Heartbreak

I guess Kanye moved from rappin' about dropping out of school to heartbreak with vocoder. Still one of the hottest albums I've heard in a long time, even tho I didn't like Love Lockdown. From the looks of his appearance on 106 and Park, he's apparently growing is hair out too.

I Ran Across This Nonsense In The XXL

"--Weezy F. Baby now has a new baby…boy that is.

The Cash Money rapper recently announced he would be father to a new son as he accepted an award at the 2008 BET Hip-Hop Awards. The rapper made no mention of who the mother is. Rumors swirled that it could be one of two former flames, Nivea or Karrine “Superhead” Steffans.

UsMagazine.com is reporting the rappers son was born this afternoon at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati.

No information was given regarding the boy’s weight or the time of birth. Wayne has managed to keep the pregnancy and mother’s identification private. He hasn’t offered a statement as of press time."

I guess this is his second child...that he knows about. I wonder how many illegitimate kids this man has just chillin' all over the world. Skeet skeet.

The Last Great Debate

I was watching the debate last night.....and I couldn't help but notice that McCain was gettin' all up inside Obama's ass. And as much as I hate to say it, this was the first debate that I felt Obama did not win. I couldn't watch the whole thing but from what I saw, McCain was keeping my man Obama on the ropes.

But despite what I felt, the results from the "CBS Uncommitted Voters Poll" indicate that Obama actually won among undecided voters. Nice. Currently about 12% of America's voters are undecided.

--"Fifty-three percent of the uncommitted voters surveyed identified Democratic nominee Barack Obama as the winner of tonight's debate. Twenty-two percent said Republican rival John McCain won. Twenty-five percent saw the debate as a draw.

More uncommitted voters trusted Obama than McCain to make the right decisions about health care. Before the debate, sixty-one percent of uncommitted voters said that they trust Obama on the issue; after, sixty-eight percent said so. Twenty-seven percent trusted McCain to manage health care before the debate; thirty percent said so afterwards."

Bush Still F***ing Up

Basically Bush wants to stop all music and other forms of "creative downloads." The article from pcworld.com explains it in more detail:

U.S. President George W. Bush Monday signed into law a bill designed to increase protection of intellectual property (IP) such as software, films and music by raising penalties for infringement and creating a national "IP czar.

Some public advocacy groups had opposed the bill, stating that its penalties were far too harsh and that it didn't balance users' rights and concerns over those of major software, media and pharmaceutical companies. "The bill only adds more imbalance to a copyright law that favors large media companies. At a time when the entire digital world is going to less restrictive distribution models, and when the courts are aghast at the outlandish damages being inflicted on consumers in copyright cases, this bill goes entirely in the wrong direction," said Gigi B. Sohn, president and co-founder of Public Knowledge, a Washington, D.C.-based digital rights group, after the passage of the Senate version of PRO-IP in late September.

Even the DOJ came out against certain early provisions in the bill that were later struck, namely that they "could result in Department of Justice prosecutors serving as pro bono lawyers for private copyright holders regardless of their resources."

Gasoline prices are finally starting to go back down. That shit was approaching $5 a gallon last week (for those prices, I better be either getting high or laid.) Gasoline prices are dropping more than 4 cents a gallon and coming within 25 cents of breaching the $3 level, according to a daily survey of credit card swipes releases Sunday. The average price of unleaded regular fell to $3.247 a gallon nationwide, down 4.4 cents. The decline comes as hurricane season winds down and oil prices drop because demand is likely to weaken as the economy slows. I guess there's at least somewhat of a bright side to Bush's butchery of the national economy. Answer = Obama.

Chester French

Two reasons why I really dig the duo that goes by the name Chester French: Original content, and they're producing and writing their entire album themselves. The group is made of two former Harvard students, currently touring with N.E.R.D. and Common (I saw the show last night and it was bananas.) I can really respect any artist that has their own style, but I really respect an artist that takes 100% control of their music, and does all the creative work themselves. It has to be tough for them not to except any beats from N.E.R.D. since they are signed to the Star Trak label. Expect their upcoming album "Love The Future" to be nothing short of anything else you would expect from Star Trak.

Old People Starting To Like Obama

Barack Obama is currently leading in the polls and closer to getting those 270 electoral votes than McCain. If the election were today, he would win fairly easily. Good to hear, but it ain't over. Obama is starting to receive more support from people over the age of 50 who are concerned with the economy and their ability to securely retire. The elderly cohort feel that Obama has stronger economic policies, and are right to feel so.

Lloyd Banks - Return Of The PLK

I like this mixtape for one reason. It's hard. It's got the cocky, grimmy, fuck you sound that I love to hear from G-Unit. I don't want to hear "Candy Shop" or "Reason You Smile" from any G-unit member any more than I want to hear John McCain start gangsta rapping. Actually I would like to hear that. But the point is when G-Unit stays true to their original South Side Jamaica Queens style, they can't miss.

President Sarah Palin

Dose the sound of President Palin not make your stomach churn? Sarah Palin is not prepared or experienced enough to potentially become the president of The United States. I don't care how many of John McCain's doctors say he's healthy, 72 is 72, and any man can bite the dust at that age. McCain's age and history with cancer are a big a concern to me because I cannot imagine The United States of America being led under the wing of Sarah Palin. If she can't handle talking to the press, what's going to happen when she has to meet with hostile foreign dipomats? Let's not forget that an untimely McCain death isn't the onlyway for Failin' Palin to become president. He can become too ill, impeached, or assassinated. Don't just disregard that like it can't happen. It can. And it has happened in the past.

Young Black People NEED To Get Registered

How many young black people like me have friends that claim Obama is the best thing to happen since the 15th amendment? How many of those friends are registered? Not even half of mine are. Trend. Young black people are not getting themselves registered. Problem. All the support from young black people doesn't count if they don't vote. I realized this dilemma while watching the presidential debate on Friday 26th. I watched the debate with a group of young, avid, black Obama supporters. They all also had no clue where to go to get registered.

The debate, was in most people's opinion, won by Barack Obama. 46% of the debates viewers felt that Obama won, leaving 34% for John McCain. The results surprisingly favored Obama even though the debate emphasized foreign policy, McCain's strong suit. Obama's strength is domestic policy, which is the topic of the next debate.

If you watched the debate, and are an Obama fan like me, you wouldn't be surprised to hear these results. Obama kept McCain on defense while keeping his calm swag. McCain looked like that kid on the playground that just smiles when he doesn't know how else to handle get embarrassed by the school bully. To the average Obama supporter, it just seems like Obama is clearly the better candidate than McCain in almost every way possible. He has better plans for domestic and foreign policies, is a better public speaker, and doesn't have the clueless Sarah Palin as a running mate.

But just because Obama is ahead in the polls now doesn't mean his supporters can relax. Obama's supporters, like my friends and I, are of the younger and minority demographics. The thing to take note of is that these are the demographics that are least likely to get registered and actually vote. McCain controls the older vote which is the demographic most likely to show up to the voters booth. If you are an of age Obama supporter, you NEED to get registered and make sure you go out and vote. VOTE OR DIE. You also need to influence your family, friends, co-workers, and anyone else you know to get themselves registered and vote. Your support for Obama means nothing if you don't vote and influence others to vote as well.
